Jean focuses on how digital media usage facilitates community building, and using digital strategies to create connections and access to resources within a community for more equity in the arts.

Jean’s works are inspired by the relationships formed in our lives - with others and with ourselves. These interactions are integral to our broader understanding of the world and they strive to explore that interconnectedness of people in both a positive and a negative light.

Jean’s works also pertain to the complicated relationship with their body and the way they view themselves in the context of others. Their works exist to evoke that visceral feeling of attachment and detachment to our physical bodies. These feelings intersect with themes of the body, queerness, and gender dysphoria, focusing on the way society views our bodies in a gendered way. From all of this, they portray the contradiction of being both comfortable in one’s own body, but also the feeling of repulsion in our corporal forms.
